My name is Lasse and I’m a black Labrador. I was born 7. February 2003. My real name is Kenzo´s Canasta, but that’s not a name that I use. It only says so in my pedigree.

When I was 14 weeks old I moved in with a little family in Ishøj. When I was about 5 months old, my then owner began at work and she found Anni to take care of me and take me for a walk during the day and sometimes I spend several days at Anni´s place if my then owner had too much on her mind. I have spent a lot of time with Anni and I loved being on holidays at her and her boyfriend John’s place.

But I am a very active dog and my then owner had a suspicion that I had stress and that I did not get the attention and exercise that I needed. I had a bad habit of destroying everything at the house, so my then owner had put a muzzle on me and that made my fur fall of and made my nose and mouth purple and I got stupid wounds almost burns on my lips and they swell.

So she decided that it was best for me to get a new home and in the beginning of November 2004 the decision was made. I had to move. In the week up to the decision I had been living with Anni and John and when my then owner called Anni to inform her about the decision Anni began to cry and begged her to let her buy me. But no….I had to go to Germany because some weird place would buy me for a lot of money.

But Anni, John and Anni´s sister, Berit, and some friends would not take no for an answer. They begged and begged my then owner to let them buy me for the same amount of money that the German place would buy me for. While all of this was going on, I was still at Anni and John’s place. My owner didn’t even want me back to se goodbye.

Finally, the day before I was supposed to go to Germany, my then owner changed her mind. She would let Anni and John buy me. They were all very happy and the same day Anni went and picked up my basket, my food, my papers and pedigree and that’s how I the 6. November 2004 got a new home her with John and Anni.

I still live in Ishøj, so I am close to my usual walking-places and I have made a lot of new friends after I moved.

I am a very beautiful dog with a lot of energy and I have no problems at all being home alone now. I have NEVER destroyed anything at my new home (But I never did when I was on holiday at their place either). I know that they love me and that they will come straight home to me after work.

They have also thrown out all of the muzzles. I have never had them on at their place. So now I am really handsome. I love my home.

Lasse had not been properly feed and was not at all well kept. So the first thing we did when he was ours was to change his food and give him a shower, that’s was really needed.

He wasn’t totally black as he was supposed to. And with a lot of dandruff in his fur, discharge from his eyes and foreskin and the nose completely destroyed by the muzzle, he did not look pretty.

We went to the veterinary a lot in the beggining and got Lasse´s health checked and got simple things done, such as getting his ears cleaned, his nails cut etc. 

After almost 5 months of changing his food, we no longer felt that the perfect food for Lasse was to be found in dry food and instead we began raw feeding (BARF) in the end of Marts 2005.
